The first project of the subject consisted of answering the key questions about School Guidance and Counselling by looking for information in different resources that the teacher provided us. On the other hand, we also looked for aditional information in order to present if finally to the rest of the class.
The key questions were:
- What is school guidance counselling?
- Are guidance and counselling synonyms?
- Who receives the school guidance and counselling services?
- What services are provided in the school guidance and counselling programmes?
- Who provides these services?
- When are the school guidance counselling services provided?
- Where are they provided?
After searching for information, we shared our new knowledge about Guidance and Counselling with our classmates in this Prezi presentation, in which we included the answers to the questions just cited above:
Then we made a debate. The teacher also asked us some questions and we answer trying to demonstrate what we had learnt.
Through this project we have learnt basic but necessary aspects about the subject in order to lay down a good base for the future work. At first, the difference between guidance and counselling was a bit confusing. But at the end of the activity, we ordered our ideas and we already knew about the main concepts.
This project was very useful because, at the same time we increased our knowledge about counselling, we also practiced other skills like listening - watching videos in English - or speaking when we made our presentation to our classmates.
