Group of Experts

The aim of this activity is to apply to Spain context what we have previously learned about school Guidance and Counseling . The idea is that every student is now an expert on one specific area. That's why this technique is known as "Group of Experts" and it is fundamented in collaborative methodology.

The class was divided in four students groups. In each group there was an expert of one specific topic. Each of the experts has received the following documentation what they need to become an expert.

But not individually, they read them with the other experts of the other groups. Therefore, all experts number 1 have worked together, all number 2 together and  so on. Besides understanding the document, they have to explain their topic to the members of their original group for 45 minutes.

While the experts explain the topic, the rest of the participants of the group can ask questions and take notes in order to get as much information as possible.

By the end of the process, the teacher will suggest to answer some questions in a weitten exercise to test the knowledge learnt.

The way in which this activity was developed was very dinamic because of the collaboration and the reciprocity relation among classmates. Personally I think there was too much information and I would had preffer more concrete information. But in general the activity was well organized and I learnt a lot.
